Austin Boom Summer 10u Team Captures 2nd in Centex Summer Classic Tourney - June 29-30, 2013
June 29-30 (Austin) - Tackling 105+ degree heat, the 10u Boom boys weathered the weekend well going 3-1 in the CTX Summer Classic Nations Series Tourney. Earning top seed in the select division with victories over LDA Diamond Dawgs(9-8) and Prime Baseball(17-4), the boys started their Sunday in the semi-final Championship game.
The semi-final game proved to be a game of sheer will of the boys, going into 5x overtime and lasting a incredible 3 1/2 hours in 100 degree heat. In the end, they bested the SW Titans to enter the Championship. The boys gave it everything they had left against the Zone Four Roughriders, but the heat and 5 hours of straight playing eventually took its toll, with the boys taking 2nd.
We are very proud of you boys for never giving up!
June 9 (Round Rock - Dell Diamond) - Boys from the 9u and 10u Boom teams participated as bat boys for the Central Texas High School All Star South team (Lake Travis, Marble Falls, et al). It was a blazing hot day, but the boys had a blast and got to spend some time in the dugout with the South team. Special thanks to Coach Kinnan and Coach Figg for the invite!
May 11-12 (Round Rock/Georgetown) - The Austin Boom 10u boys fought tough this past weekend to earn 3rd place of 12 teams in the Super Series Mother's Day Madness Tourney. With victories over Austin's Finest - Estrada and the Scorpions, the team battled hard, but lost in the semi-final game against Chaos. Way to go Boom!
